Summer up north
Unfortunately it's over. My daughter and I had an awesome summer vacation. When she arrived from Germany the first couple of days we had typical british weather, 3 seasons in the same day (fortunately except winter). So, being in Leeds and York for a couple of days was rather like that. But coming to the lakes and finishing that sort of weather with a heavy shower - it turned to be beautiful.
We have spend 2 days of hiking and camping there, one with the guys from the gym in Preston and went then on to "fight" the Hadrians wall for one day. Sun Sun Sun also followed us then to Scotland… I love that country: Amazing nature up there! So hiking for another 3 days and a little shipping between mad us both happy. The finish :(
A dinner in our Local Pub with Kermit :)

Germany, Berlin...
3am in the morning. Waiting for the train home. What a day: Work in the morning, rush to Manchester Airport, 2 flights delayed, button from trouser ripped off and pants almost lost, entertainment in Bus, last train missed, all friends in Berlin already asleep and finally watching people in Mc Cafe having the same fate. Oh Dear, what a day...

Did not say anything for a while...
Therefore at least some change: My Birthday Present 2009:
The 40. New York City Marathon for my 40. Birthday.
A gift from my whole family. Thanks for making that amazing event possible - just fun! And undoubtedly one of the most amazing sport events in the world. A "Have to do" for every runner.

Easter 2011
Did a 20k run yesterday. Nice course around Penwortham ... but way to hot for England. Although recovering was quite ok so it seems I did not loose all shape within the week after the race. In the afternoon saw some good friends and got really pis... afterwards when I realised that the laundry outside got soaked again by that heavy summer rain.
Now off to Germany to see my family and some work on the house. Oh Dear...

Glasgow Edinburgh Double Marathon
... or a little more. In the end it was 90k and a TOUGH race. As Haile one day said: "There are good days for a race and there are days which are not..." Well, that was not one of my best. It was beautiful weather, the racers was a relatively small group but all VERY nice guys and it was great organized. The "No 1" coach was there, and hence everything was well. After the first 30 k I got a blister and probably because of that I favoured one leg which caused pain in my left knee and did not stop till the end. But in the end we did it!. Met nice people on the way, on the checkpoints were friends waiting for me which made me moving with a BIG smile, crossing the finish line. Thanks to everyone who gave me that great day!
